Thomas F. Hatch – Managing Director

Mr. Hatch has over 30 years of experience as an attorney, business consultant and investor.  From 1999 through 2004 he was the General Counsel to the North American arm of a large international private equity firm, where he oversaw legal matters in connection with the acquisition, operation, divestiture and financing of investments in the United States, the UK, Germany, Canada and China. Since 2004, Mr. Hatch has consulted and partnered with a diverse group of enterprises in numerous ventures across a wide range of industries.

These ventures include varying projects such as targeting and acquiring businesses in North America and Europe, connecting North American portfolio companies with supply and joint venture partners, identifying and negotiating with global targets, assisting businesses with being listed on international stock exchanges such as NASDAQ, and general advisory services.

Mr. Hatch has substantial experience in structuring both international and domestic business transactions and he regularly assists with due diligence, negotiations, and financing.  He has also actively overseen the formation, successful operation, divestiture, dissolution and liquidation of joint ventures and businesses in the United States, the UK, Germany, Canada and China. 

 

Ken Duck – Managing Director

With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Duck has extensive experience counseling clients on their business activities.  Primarily working with US, Chinese and Japanese businesses, he has Actively supported investments into and from China, Japan, India, S. Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan,  Singapore and has also completed numerous transactions in other jurisdictions, including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, England, Germany and much of the European Union.

With regard to Chinese companies’ outbound investments, Mr. Duck routinely structures and advises Chinese companies on the entry, establishment and operations in markets such as in the US, Mexico, Canada, Brazil and other parts of Central and South America, Africa, Europe, Japan and other parts of Asia. 

For US, Canadian, European and Japanese and other businesses looking to enter the Chinese market, Mr. Duck frequently assists with establishing operations and structuring investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, advising on human resource, intellectual property protection and other commercial matters in China. He has lived and worked in China for more than four years in total. 

Mr. Duck also regularly advises clients on doing business in Japan and assists Japanese companies doing business in China, North and South America and Europe. He has advised on mergers and acquisitions in Japan and direct investments into China by Japanese companies. He has lived and worked in Japan for more than three years in total.
